INDY · HOODIE · MIDNIGHT BLUE

CHF 84.18

Naptown wasn't an insult when it started. Black jazz musicians coined it in the 1920s, leaning on the fourth syllable of Indianapolis until the middle of the word became the whole name. The earliest print anyone has found is a 1927 piece in the Indianapolis Recorder about the players working the clubs.

People later used it to mean the city was asleep. The people who made the word were the ones up all night.
